1º ESO A
Mi querido alumnado,
como ya saben esta semana tienen lugar las reuniones de evaluación de la convocatoria ordinaria. Siempre me gusta comentar la nota con ustedes en clase pero este trimestre ha sido imposible debido a las circunstancias. Aun así, me gustaría proponerles una cita por videoconferencia para tratar ese tema y otros de tutoría acerca de la entrega de notas y los planes de recuperación de aquellos que les quede alguna asignatura pendiente para la extraordinaria. Seguramente será este jueves a las 11 horas. Les enviaré un e-mail con la confirmación y el enlace.
Hasta entonces no se olviden que nuestros polluelos tienen previsto nacer en la primera o segunda semana de junio. Les dejo la ventanica a su nido por si se animan a echarles un vistacillo.

It has been a weird term, but I have to tell you that I am really proud of all of you. You worked in a quite organised way and you did a great job during this time. We could not perform the dissections and we didn´t have the opportunity to use the microscope (this term was going to be so cool...😢).
Hope we can catch up and show you amazing things in Biology and Geology of 3º of ESO.
And don´t forget our couple of Booted Eagles! The chicks are expected to be born the first or second week of June!

Mi querido grupo,
se va acercando el final del curso para muchos y me gustaría proponerles una última tarea. Es la más difícil de todas; es algo a largo plazo, que deberíamos hacer todos los días del resto de nuestras vidas (y no es matemáticas 😉).
La actividad está impresa en la imagen (intenten hacer siempre lo que pone en ese texto). Pinchen sobre ella y verán cómo sigue nuestra pareja de águilas calzadas, frente a viento y marea, cuidando de lo frágil; algo que deberíamos hacer nosotros también.
Seguimos en contacto la semana que viene.

the end of the course is approaching for some of you. I would like to propose you another activity. Perhaps it is the most difficult one. It is a long-lasting task, that you will have to perform every day of your life. The activity appears on the text of the image. Try to do that always.

1º BACHILLERATO - Biología - Semana del 25 al 29 de mayo
Estimados alumnos, se acerca el final de la convocatoria ordinaria (no sé ustedes, pero la más extraña que yo he vivido hasta ahora).
Como les comenté, esta semana veremos la última parte del índice que les facilité (Plan-COVID-19) y veremos el punto 3 correspondiente a los principales grupos de seres vivos (Unidad 11 del libro).
Esta parte no va a ser evaluable, pero es conveniente que la trabajen para llegar con ideas claras al próximo curso. Les dejo el siguiente enlace:

La unidad que desarrolla es muy completa. Pero la parte más importante es el cuadro de la página 4 con las características generales de los 5 reinos (si eso no lo saben a estas alturas se les destierra, que lo sepan). Yo me miraría con detenimiento desde la página 4 a la 7 (incluida) y haría los ejercicios propuestos, que además se autocorrigen (¡un chollo!). Y luego haría un barrido por encima hasta el final, pero no se metan en los detalles ni nombres de los tipos de protozoos ni algas.
Cualquier duda me escriben (nerea.distancia@gmail.com). ¡Ah! Y lo que aparece como algas cianofíceas, no son algas puesto que ven que son procariotas. Son nuestras queridas cianobacterias, que antes pensaban que eran algas y se denominaban algas verde-azuladas o cianofíceas.
Recuerden que el miércoles 27 tendrán el cuestionario sobre la fotosíntesis. De 11 a 11:30 horas.

se aproxima el final de esta extraña evaluación y les propongo una última tarea.
En este vídeo (poco más de un minuto) nos dan una serie de consejos para mantener una postura correcta de cara al uso del ordenador, que podrían ser aplicables a una tablet. Como supongo que nadie está utilizando ninguno de ellos estos días (¿verdad?) no sé si podrán sacarle uso a esta actividad.
Vean el vídeo y hagan anatomía "aplicada". Vamos, que se lo apliquen y también a aquellos que puedan tener a su alrededor en similares circunstancias. Yo ya me he dado cuenta de que el monitor lo tengo muy bajo (me va a salir un cuello tortuga, al final). Así que esa es tu tarea: cuidar de ustedes y los suyos. 💛

Empezamos el punto 2 del índice del PLAN COVID-19 que les pasé que versa sobre la nutrición en las plantas y la fotosíntesis. Les dejo varias tareas:
1º) En su libro de texto, lean desde la página 276 a la 280.
2º) Vean este vídeo que incide sobre conceptos clave de la fotosíntesis: https://youtu.be/vBGGVU2DIDo
3º) Realicen estos ejercicios de su libro de texto:
- Página 284: ejercicio 8
- Página 285: ejercicios 13 y 15.
Recuerden que el miércoles 20 tendrán abierto de 11 a 12 horas el cuestionario sobre el ciclo celular y el jueves nos vemos a las 11 horas para aclarar dudas de la fotosíntesis y repasar esos ejercicios.

Esta semana les propongo una reflexión. Ahora que la pandemia del coronavirus nos afecta de lleno a todos, muchos han recordado las palabras que Bill Gates pronunció en el 2015 durante un charla TED. Explicaba que la siguiente gran amenaza de la humanidad no sería una gran guerra, sino una pandemia. "No habrá misiles, sino microbios".
Visualicen el vídeo (8 minutos, está en inglés, en la rueda de configuración a la derecha pueden encontrar los subtítulos en español). Párense a pensar un poco sobre su mensaje y me envían una reflexión sobre ello que también contenga la aportación personal de lo que cada uno de ustedes está viviendo durante esta pandemia.

En algunos está ya todo mezclado (a ver si ahora sí que consigo liarles 😉) Es importante que los trabajen porque las dudas surgen haciéndolos (de nada sirve copiar luego las soluciones en estos temas, igual que con la bioquímica, háganme caso). El viernes los comentamos en la sesión on-line (a las 11 horas en el enlace habitual).

Ya saben cómo se alimentan los heterótrofos, ¿no? (yo hoy a mediodía lo haré con una ensalada de aguacate y bacalao al horno 😋). Pues esta semana vamos a ver cómo lo hacen los autótrofos, específicamente las plantas. Para ello:
1º) Vemos este vídeo sobre la fotosíntesis (ya sé...nos habla como si tuviéramos cuatro años, pero es muy sencillo de entender):
2º) Leen en su libro la página 16 (punto 5.1 La nutrición en las plantas) y hacen en su cuaderno el dibujo del árbol que viene en esa página, poniendo también cómo entra el dióxido de carbono y sale el oxígeno por las hojas y cómo se absorben el agua y las sales minerales por las raíces. Pero les falta algo importante que tienen que añadir ustedes...(recuerden el vídeo) Pongan en ese dibujo el sol y la savia elaborada. No olviden un título para ese dibujo y la fecha, cuidar márgenes...ya saben.

¡Buena semana heterótrofos! 😜

Let´s keep analyzing the world of illnesses. You already know that viruses can make us be sick. But viruses are not the only pathogens that exist. This video shows you that bacteria, protozoa and fungi are also agents that can produce illnesses.
Your activity today consists on:

2nd) Take your notebook and jot down the meaning of the word pathogen and write down the pathogens mentioned in the video and an example of an illness caused by them (e.g.: Virus - Flu)

- Tienen que "fabricar" un ejemplo de heterótrofo o de un autótrofo (¡solo uno, elijan!) Para ello, vamos a usar el rollito de papel higiénico que les pedí el jueves que fueran guardando. Recuerden no complicarse mucho y usar los materiales que encuentren por casa.
- Cuando lo tengan, me envían una foto del resultado a mi e-mail (nerea.distancia@gmail.com)
- Plazo de entrega: hasta el 3 de mayo.
Les dejo unas fotos como ejemplos (hay muchas en internet, pero usen su imaginación)

1ºBACHILLERATO - Anatomía - Tarea para la semana 27 -30 de abril

Para la semana que viene les propongo otro Hospital de Celebrities. En esta ocasión tendrán que interpretar los análisis de orina de un grupo peculiar de pacientes. Tienen toda la información y datos en la presentación que les dejo en la imagen (hagan click ahí).

¿Les gustaron las fotos de ayer de los virus? Una pasada, la verdad.
Hoy terminamos ya tejidos animales:
1º) Leer la parte referente a tejido hematopoyético y nervioso
2º) Busquen 4 micrografías: eritrocitos, linfocito, neutrófilo y neuronas. En la de sangre, es posible que encuentren una identificada con las tres que le digo (un 3 en 1, vamos); pueden usarla sin problemas.
3º) Incorporen las micrografías a su presentación y cuando la tengan lista me la envían a nerea.distancia@gmail.com. Tienen de plazo hasta este domingo a las 22:00 h.

1º ESO A - Tarea para el martes 21 de abril
Hoy vamos a aprender los dos grandes tipos de nutrición que hay: autótrofa y heterótrofa. Todos los animales somos heterótrofos porque necesitamos consumir alimentos para obtener de ellos los nutrientes que nos permiten crecer, regenerarnos ("repararnos") y obtener energía. Sin embargo, las plantas no, porque son autótrofas, ellas se producen sus propios nutrientes orgánicos. ¿Han visto a alguna planta comerse un bocata de calamares? ¿No verdad? Por eso, ellas mediante la fotosíntesis, se fabrican su propio alimento. Esta semana trabajaremos con estos conceptos.
Así que, su tarea hoy es aprender estos dos tipos de nutrición. Para ello:
- Leemos en nuestro libro el punto 4.1.1. (tipos de nutrición) de la página 14 (solo ese punto) y escribimos en nuestro cuaderno la definición de nutrición autótrofa y heterótofa.
NO ME LO ENVÍEN. Mañana seguiremos trabajando con estos conceptos.

Well, today I propose you two things:
1º) Take your book and read page 70. Pay attention to the new terms such as WHO (this is the OMS in Spanish; it appears a lot in the news now), symptoms, diagnosis, signs, swelling,...
2º) Get your breathing rate. Have someone at home that counts the times you breath in (at rest) and check if you are in the average.
You don´t have to send me anything. We will keep working on these concepts this week.

Les dejo una foto de nuestro enemigo, lo amarillito, partículas de coronavirus infectando a una célula, ¿qué microscopio han utilizado? Si pinchan sobre la imagen verán un artículo de El País con microfotografías de los virus más infecciosos. Bellos y letales.

1º ESO B/C - Tarea para el lunes 20 de abril
Hi everyone! Did you have a nice weekend? I did! I learnt how NOT to cook an apple pie, but a strudel cake! 😂😂 Some of you asked me about it and here it is (it was quite tasty, to be honest):
Well, I ate it with vanilla ice-cream. I have to eat, to get the nutrients (organic matter) from the food because my type of nutrition is heterotrophic! Same as yours, gang of heterotrophs!
Same as all animals or fungi, for example. The other type of nutrition is the autotrophic one. Plants or algae are autotrophs because they can make their own nutrients (organic matter) such as glucose. They don´t need to eat. I prefer to be a heterotroph, I love apple pie!
So, your activity for today is:
1º) Read on page 14 of your book the part of "nutrition types" (at the bottom, 4.1.1, only that)
2º) Copy in your notework the definition of autotrophic and heterotrophic nutrition and add three examples of organisms with these types of nutrition in each.
Don´t send me anything. We will work on these concepts during this week; so don´t worry because you will understand them better at the end of the week. Promised!
